Prescriptions

Prescription medications that many of us have seen on the news and social media can be offered at Mojo Vitality after a consult with our MD. You can visit us in person, or click here for a TeleHealth visit. We will let you know of cheaper alternatives to what you may have heard or read about - or verify any rumors circulating out there. Below are some of the more frequent prescription medications we hear patients asking about.

Ozempic

Ozempic is a popular diabetes drug that can also help patients with appetite suppression and in turn, weight loss. Ozempic is a semaglutide, as are prescriptions such as Wegovy and Rybelsus that all work by increasing insulin release, lowering the amount of glucagon released, delaying gastric emptying and reducing appetite.

Phentermine

Phentermine stimulates the central nervous system (nerves and brain), which increases your heart rate and blood pressure and decreases your appetite. Phentermine is used together with diet and exercise to treat obesity, especially in people with risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes.

Anastrozole

Anastrozole lowers estrogen levels in postmenopausal women, which may slow the growth of certain types of breast tumors that need estrogen to grow in the body. Anastrozole can be used to treat breast cancer in postmenopausal women. It is often given to women whose cancer has progressed even after taking tamoxifen (Nolvadex, Soltamox).

Mounjaro

Similar to Ozempic, Mounjaro works to reduce blood sugar levels by increasing your insulin production and also lowering the amount of sugar your liver makes. It also slows the rate food passes through your body which makes you feel full longer.

Viagra

Sildenafil relaxes muscles of the blood vessels and increases blood flow to particular areas of the body. Sildenafil under the name Viagra is used to treat erectile dysfunction (impotence) in men. Another brand of sildenafil is Revatio, which is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension and improve exercise capacity in men and women.

Finasteride

Finasteride (Proscar) is used alone or with other medication to treat symptoms of benign prostatic hyerplasia (BPA) in men with an enlarged prostate. Finasteride (Propecia) can also be used to treat male pattern hair loss in men.

Metformin

Metformin is an antidiabetic agent that manages high blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes patients. It reduces glucose absorption from the intestines, lowers liver glucose production, and improves insulin sensitivity.

Clomiphene

Clomiphene is a non-steroidal fertility medicine. It causes the pituitary gland to release hormones needed to stimulate ovulation. Clomiphene is used to cause ovulation in women with certain medical conditions (such as polycystic ovary syndrome) that prevent naturally occurring ovulation.

Bremelanotide

Bremelanotide is used to treat low sexual desire in women who have not gone through menopause and have not had low sexual desire in the past. Bremelanotide should be used only to treat low sexual desire that occurs with any type of sexual activity, in any sexual situation, or with any sexual partner.

There are many many other prescriptions we can discuss with you, including a long list of peptides.
