What to Expect

In our pelvic floor physical therapy treatment room, you will find a cushioned cozy treatment table with sheets and a soft blanket. You can make yourself comfortable where we will discuss what you are coming in for. We will then go through an orthopedic assessment where we will assess your pelvic alignment, hips, and back. If your symptoms warrant an internal pelvic exam and you feel ready, we will perform one on the first visit. Like we mentioned, there is no speculum or even stirrups!

After the internal exam, you will get dressed and we will discuss what was found during our evaluation. We will discuss your personalized treatment plan and see if you have any questions or if any follow up appointments are necessary. It truly is a smooth and relaxing visit. Outside of appointments, you will have direct access to your therapist via your patient portal which also comes with an app where the therapist can assist you in tracking your progress. If you don't want to download the app, no problem!

Every session is an hour long one-on-one session with customized exercises and treatments for what you need.

We look forward to seeing you in the office to help you reach and strive beyond your goals!

  • Everyone has muscles within their pelvis that control bowel, bladder and sexual function. These muscles are constantly active to keep you dry throughout the day and night and enable you to perform sexually. Physical therapists who are trained to assess and treat the joints, nerves, muscles and fascia inside the pelvis will assist with strengthening, stretching, improving coordination and reducing pain in this region. Your therapist may recommend a rectal exam to assess these internal structures. This is performed only with your written AND verbal consent. Your PT will also address any issues in the rest of the body that may be contributing to your condition. Pelvic floor physical therapy is performed one on one in a private treatment room. We are a concierge medical practice where you, the patient, are listened to and heard.

  • Yes! A lot, actually. Males can suffer from pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, bladder and bowel dysfunction just like women can. Many urologists in the area refer their male patients to us, and we can help.
If what you have going on down there is quite embarrassing, look, we have seen it all and treated it all and can help. We realize that you're considering getting help with something that is private, sensitive, and troubling. That is exactly why we're here. There's no TMI at our office.
